As our first assignment within Illustrator, we were to create several images based on  instruction by the teacher. This assignment taught us a lot about the tools in this new program, and just how to use it in general. My favorite object I created is the fruit bowl, because it has a really unique style, the colors all match up really well, and it just turned out really well. On the contrary, my least favorite is the tomato. While the color and style are there, I don't think they mach up really well and the final result looks... not so great. This was a long but fun assignment, and I look forward to using what I learned from it.

For our second illustrator assignment, we were to create three logos based on some part of ourselves. The first I created was with my initials - this one was easy, I just selected a font and made a design to match. (I made a playing card). The second one was probably hardest, but I think the final result turned out the best. The only problem I had was with color; we were only allowed to work in black and white, meaning I could not get the contrast I wanted on the monitor's screen. I think for this one case color is necessary, as it makes the "blue screen of death" recognizable. The final logo was just a design to represent one of our interests. This one was again pretty easy, and rounded out the assignment nicely.

For the third Illustrator project, we created two snowboard designs. Each board had to have a different color palette, a custom brush/pattern, text, and a symbol. The creation process was fairly simple, it consisted simply of symbol creation, coloring, and layering. Overall I'm very happy with the result, especially on the orange board.

For the sixth Illustrator project, we a portrait of a musician or otherwise famous person to make a poster with. After deciding on a person (I did Lebron in his Sprite Cranberry commercial) we traced the outline and areas of shading/highlight. We later filled in these areas with color, and you can see the result on the left. i think the colors I chose are spot on. Honestly, I've never created any piece of art and have had it been so immediately recognizable. I love how this project turned out.

For the fifth Illustrator assignment, we created a few logos with varying amounts of color for the BHS art department. The process was pretty simple. We used a precreated image and modified it to our liking. I enjoyed how we could modify the shape of certain elements, and our ability to create contrast in the later editions. I liked this project.

For the fourth Illustrator assignment, we had to create a fake business and design certain things for our company. Starting from the top, yo can see my business card, logo (in greyscale too) the envelope, the banner for the bottom of my stationary, and the holiday version of the stationary. We created these designs over the course of about a week, and meticulously selected colors and designs. I tried to convey movement in my Taxi, etc. This was a fun project, and i'm happy with the look of everything.
